A little about Futsal
Futsal is a game with similarities to both soccer itself and traditional indoor soccer. Only it is played without the dasher boards. The games around here will mostly be played on a basketball court surface. We have the courts lined at the Southpointe Courthouse for futsal already which is awesome. On the field are 4 field players and 1 goalkeeper (5 total for each team). The game is fast and it definitely works on players overall touch, dribbling, vision, passing, angles and defense. Futsal is a game that is supported by US Soccer with a direct path to the US National Futsal Team.  The PFL- Professional Futsal League will begin play in the US in 2017 as well. So, as you can see, there are many people getting into futsal and it is growing at a rapid speed! Why play Futsal? Click here to find out!

Why Play Futsal?

Futsal rewards the same basic skills, tactics, and knowledge of the game as the outdoor game.

Ball Touches
In a statistical study comparing Futsal to indoor soccer with walls, players touch the ball 210% more often.

Ball Control
Futsal is played on a smaller field (court) and played without walled boundaries which improves ball control skills and techniques that are required to perform in such small spaces.

Speed of Play
With limited space and constant opponent pressure players learn to play and think fast.

Mandatory Support
Without a wall as a crutch, players must make supporting runs when their teammates have the ball.

Continuity of Play
Action is continuous so players are forced to continue the play instead of stopping and watching.

With four court players and all the basic options of the outdoor game in non-stop action mode, players' understanding of the game is enhanced.

Framing the Goal
The goal and penalty area are a perfect size for narrowing the angle so teams learn to frame the goal to score goals.

Players enjoy the challenge of playing a fast-paced-fun-skill-oriented game that tests their abilities.
